Resolution of "Sticky DNS" Issues with VPN Solutions:
A known issue, often referred to as the "Sticky DNS" problem, can occur when certain VPN solutions override DNS server settings on network adapters and fail to restore the original settings after the VPN tunnel is disconnected. This can leave static DNS settings in place, potentially causing slow DNS lookups. The new agent version now detects this situation earlier and prevents the use of outdated DNS servers, improving overall DNS performance.
Enhanced Policy Handling with CLASSIC-DNS and Cloud Anycast DNS:
When using the
CLASSIC-DNS
package alongside
Cloud Anycast DNS
as an upstream forwarder, we have enhanced the way DNS policies are applied based on user groups. Even if the local DNS has a cached response from a previous lookup (made by a user under a different DefensX policy), other users will consistently receive DNS responses aligned with their own policy settings, without interference from cached data.
Optimized Shutdown Behavior with Windows WFP:
We've addressed an issue where the DefensX Agent could experience problems upon receiving specific events from the Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) sublayer during service shutdown. The new version ensures smoother shutdowns and improves stability during this process.
